Public Mural Fellowship

Karnataka | 2026

Art can make young people’s experiences visible in the spaces we share. Through the Public Mural Fellowship, ANSR Foundation, through its Namma Dhwani program, and Aravani Art Society invite an artist to translate adolescents’ perspectives on identity, mental health, relationships, digital influence, and safety into a public mural in Karnataka.

About the Fellowship

Bringing Young People’s Experiences into Public Spaces

Adolescence brings questions of identity, relationships, mental health, peer pressure, and safety. Yet young people’s perspectives on these experiences are not always visible in the spaces they share.

Through Namma Dhwani, ANSR Foundation uses theatre and the arts to create opportunities for adolescents to explore and express issues that matter to them and their communities.

The Public Mural Fellowship extends this work into public art, inviting an artist to interpret adolescent experiences through a mural in Bengaluru.

Themes to Explore

The mural may explore themes that reflect the experiences and realities of adolescents.

Identity and Belonging
How young people understand themselves and their place within families, peer groups, and communities.

Mental Health
The emotional experiences young people navigate and the importance of conversations about well-being.

Peer Pressure
How friendships, social expectations, and the desire to fit in can influence decisions and self-expression.

Digital Influence
How online platforms and digital interactions shape young people’s experiences and perceptions.

Safety
How adolescents experience safety and freedom in the spaces they inhabit.
